Four Now

Brad Beck

Originally from the damp southwestern corner of Washington State, Brad first picked up a guitar not long after buying “Meet the Beatles”. In his youth, his bands have opened for the Beach Boys, the Buffalo Springfield and grunge icons the Sonics. He's played folk, country, rock, pop, blues and Latin and played in clubs, rock festivals and pit bands before getting serious about jazz. His other musical loves are classical music, MPB, French pop, and Scandinavian folk. His guitar influences are too numerous to mention, though they run from Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Beck to John Scofield, Nick Drake and João Gilberto.

Brian Hill

Brian Hill (guitar) has been performing jazz, rock and a variety of other styles of music in the SF Bay area and beyond for almost 20 years. Besides Four Now, he's currently a member of the Steven Espaniola band, contributing to Steven's unique approach to traditional Hawaiian music. Brian is also a member of Murray, RJFski and Hill a jazz/groove improv trio which has toured Thailand as performers in the Southern Thailand Jazz and Blues Festival. He was formerly the guitarist with the Kofy Brown Band in which he performed across the U.S and in the Netherlands and played on her CDs "Area 32", "Love Warrior" and "Live in San Francisco - The Mecca Session".

Maurice Miles

Raised in San Jose, California, Maurice Miles is the heartbeat of Four Now. Maurice combines complex elements of jazz, funk and soul in his playing to create a sophisticated, syncopated backbeat. The desire to lay down the groove called out to Maurice from an early age. Mostly self-taught, Maurice’s deep-pocket groove emanates from a combination of feel and his appreciation of many different styles of music. Maurice has played in a diverse range of musical projects, including the R&B band Protégé, acid jazz group Congo Square, and he has toured and recorded with Kofy Brown. His musical inspirations are Dennis Chambers, Vinnie Colaiuta, Will Kennedy, Billy Cobham and Jack DeJohnette, to name a few.

Jeff Anderson

Jeff Anderson was born and raised in Stockton Ca. As the son of two musicians, Jeff began to explore music at a young age playing trumpet in his dad’s middle school band class. Throughout high school he continued to play trumpet as well as guitar in the jazz band and eventually found a great passion for the electric bass. In the past 7 years, Jeff has explored a variety of genres including jazz, funk, hip-hop, reggae, and Motown behind solo artists, community bands, and within personal projects.
